My Favorite Clients

Here are images of about 300 or so of my absolute favorite clients from the past year or so. I make it a habit to take photos of them when performing my inspections.

I love when they follow me around to learn what the wind mitigation and 4-point inspections are all about.

Quite often some of them are camera shy, so their parents force them to pose for the photos, while others simply lounge around.

Every now and then they want to see what I taste like, but as a pet friendly home inspector, I don’t mind.

Many times they don’t even give me the time of day because they are too busy focusing on a bone, while others get excited and can’t help but walk on their hind legs or jump all over me… their parents tell them to stop, but I love it.

Quite often they will have a toy or a ball in their mouth and bring it to me because they want to play, but unfortunately I am usually on a tight schedule and I’m unable to entertain them. 🙁

Many times their parents make them stay in their room (crate) because they’re “runners” and we don’t want them escaping, otherwise we might be playing chase for hours… and while it may be fun for them, it’s certainly not fun for us! LOL

I think I’ve probably encountered every breed there is along with all kinds of mixed breeds. I’ve tried to pick a favorite, but it’s just not possible. They’re all so awesome!

Big, small, medium, tea-cup size, brown, black, grey, white, tan, multi-color, you name it, I’ve met them all.

Some bark, some whine, some lick, some smell my dogs on me, every one has a different reaction. Some are shy, but most are excited to meet me.

Some people think they do not have feelings, I could not disagree more. You can tell when a dog is sad, happy, ashamed, angry, annoyed, etc. They often exhibit compassion and offer comfort when they see their parents are sad or sick. To me they are part of the family.

Sometimes I just want to scoop them all up and take them home, but my wife would kill me, we already have 3 of our own. At one point we had 4 dogs and that was a lot to handle. lol

My dream is that in retirement I’d still do some home inspection work in the early mornings, and then in the afternoon/evening I will own a Dog Rescue.

Every week on the news in our area I see some atrocity committed against a dog whether it be hoarding, neglect, or abuse. I cannot understand how anyone could ever do such a thing. That is what fuels my desire to open a dog rescue in retirement.

My wife worries that if I own a dog rescue that I will become attached to the dogs and will not be able to give them away… but I think I would be fine with it because providing a good loving home to a dog who needs it would be very rewarding.
